First Board Exam for Guidance & Counseling Set

The June 22, 2008 Sunday publication of the Manila Bulletin published a news from the Professional Regulation Commission setting the first board exams for Guidance and Counseling. I am copying it verbatim, I was hoping to find the link so you can go to the site yourself and see it, however, the archives section of the Manila Bulletin of June 22, 2008 hasn't one. One of those whom I texted about the news replied to me that indeed the news is there. So, you can go get the paper to read it for yourself. Here it is nevertheless (my highlights):

“The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) has announced the holding of the first written Guidance and Counseling Licensure Examination on Aug. 21 and 22 to give enough time for information dissemination of the examination syllabi and to allow the graduating students of the second semester of 2007-2008 and summer 2008 to take the examination.

“The qualification requirements for the written examination are Bachelor’s, Master’s or Doctoral degree in Guidance and Counseling; Bachelor’s, Master’s or Doctoral degree in Allied Disciplines with core subjects in Guidance.

“The examinee should also have units in the following subjects: Philosophical, Psychological and Sociological Foundations of Guidance; Counseling Theories, Tools and Techniques; Psychological Testing; Organization, Administration and Supervision of Guidance Services and Program Development; Group Process or Group Guidance; and Career Guidance or Occupational or Vocational Guidance.

“Applicants should submit several documents with their application. These are National Statistics Office Birth Certificate in security paper, NSO Marriage Certificate in security paper, Transcript of Records with scanned picture and remarks “For Board Examination Purposes Only,” NBI Clearance; four colored passport-size picture with complete nametag; and examination fee of P900.”

Now this is history taking place. All the best to everyone. God bless
