Words Before Registration

Just to answer some queries:

1. It is alright to do ONSITE Registration. While we prefer Pre-registration as Early Bird or Regular, there are those who may have decided to register onsite. That's alright. We have time and space still available.

2. RGCs pay only P2,500, not P3,000 as mistakenly written. CULPA NOSTRA! Por favor senyores y senyoras hehe.

3. RGCs are IPCAP members. They just have to activate their membership. Membership fee is P500, CPE Certification fee is P200. ID fee of P200 is good for three years. We have already started printing IPCAP ID's of those who have pre-registered. BRING ALONG YOUR most recent ID PICTURE, YOUR PRC LICENSE. We will provide the membership application forms as you register, with an IPCAP ID form as well. 1 picture should be sufficient.

4. This Convention has been approved for the number of CPE units requested, except that there is still a running discussion as to whether non-RGC workshop facilitators' workshops are credited as CPE. I hope the Board will hear our point which was granted last time: even non-RGC's workshops are CPE-credited because the speakers have credentials that show the Guidance Counseling profession can be enriched by them, can be continuing professional education sessions. They may not be RGCs but their contents are more than the entry level as licensed Counselors. Hope this can be given due consideration.

Until the next entry. Got to go. God bless and take care

Corrections on the upcoming IPCAP-PACC Convention

We would like to apologize for the typographical error in the invitation letter, particularly regarding the fees. For IPCAP and PACC members, fees paid starting Sept. 4 and onwards (Regular and no longer Early Bird) remains at P2,500, while non-members of both organizations shall pay P3,000. Fees may be paid in either accounts of the banks mentioned in the letter. Indeed, members are to have some benefits as we have enshrined in our by-laws. And to think that as non-stock, non-profit organizations, IPCAP and PACC would like to live by what we have been registered in the SEC for.

For IPCAP, membership fees are not included though in the current fees. Annual membership fee remains at P500. ID fee of P200 is good for three years. We charge P200 for the CPE certificate of earned units. Please note though that for IPCAP members who have already updated their membership this year are free from paying their membership dues. We pay membership dues ONLY ONCE A YEAR! Laking tulong na din for members no?

For membership, application forms are provided only to those with the PRC License as Registered Guidance Counselor (RGC). APOLOGIES TO THOSE WHO WOULD LIKE TO BE AN IPCAP MEMBER WHO ARE NON-RGC. You may email me (berngu721@yahoo.com) for that form. After completion of the application form, please provide us a copy of your PRC license front and back sides, your recent ID picture 1 copy lang for inclusion in the membership application form.

For the ID, please email me a scanned copy of your picture (in jpg format), and your signature - use black ink on a white bond paper, your license number, and address you want to be used in the ID. Please provide ample space for cropping purposes between your name and your signature. We have an official ID which we can use anywhere for official purposes.

Welcome to the IPCAP-PACC partnership Convention on Empowering Counselors to Reach out to Families on Sept. 16-18, 2010. God bless and take care

1st IPCAP-PACC Partnership Convention 2010

The Integrated Professional Counselors Association of the Philippines (IPCAP) will hold a Convention in partnership with the Philippine Association of Christian Counselors (PACC) on Sept. 16-18, 2010 with the theme, “Empowering Counselors to Reach-Out to Families”. We want to strengthen the know-how and skills of counselors as they reach-out and help families thrive with the different challenges they are facing today. We want to further: 1) empower counselors to continue their work with confidence and look out for opportunities to help families struggling with co-dependency & addiction issues, having a child with special needs, or adolescents who are at-risk; 2) help counselors incorporate the 6 Essential Ingredients of Healthy Parenting into their work; 3) provide counselors a framework of the healthy Filipino family, identify dysfunctional family dynamics, and how setting emotional boundaries can help each family member live and function better; 4) help counselors have a better understanding of emotions and family relational patterns and how these work out in everyday situations in the home.

The Convention will be held at the Asian Seminary of Christian Ministries 102 Valero St., Salcedo Village, Makati.

There will be 7 workshops, 5 of which each participant is entitled to attend. IPCAP, a CPE Provider (Acc. # 2010-005) has applied with the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) for 21 credit units for CPE or Continuing Professional Education. Participation in the plenary session and workshops is open to non-RGC’s and others for personal enrichment purposes. CHED, DepEd endorsement letters are available on request.
